If you’ve seen me (Emynd) DJ lately, you know the boy’s got blends for days. I actually make a point of preparing some new blends every month or so just to add some oomph to songs I may be sick of playing or just want to add a quick new twist to some new joints. Instead of letting these gems sit lonely in my Serato crates, I’ve decided to share them in a series of mixtapes I’m calling BLENT UP. Today is the first edition with 11 useful, fun blends that will hopefully rock your parties or ipods. Feel free to re-blog them, share them with your DJ buddies, or just bump them in the whip. Bing bang boom! This time around for the 1st & 15th Mix, I’ve prepared a mix focusing on fun original club blends and remixes that I’ve been rocking in my sets the past several months. Been rocking this in the club and it’s working quite well. This is more of a Bmore “edit” than a “Remix.” Just added Bmore drums and elements to pick up the energy and make it up-tempo. I didn’t bother going crazy chopping it up into a whole new song or anything. I wanted to keep it sing-alongable but add that additional energy that the Bmore rhythms always provide. Once again it’s on! Although it hasn’t gotten very cold in Philly yet, it still feels like winter around here… vibe-wise if not weather-wise. And, in these barren winter months, I tend to comfort myself with the soothing sound of melodies. I’ve been meaning to do a mix of some of my favorite melodic, affecting House songs for quite a while now so I took this 1st & 15th opportunity to put a few down for your (and my!) listening pleasure. Big soaring melodies with lots of in-key mixing going on in this mix. Pretty simple stuff, but I really enjoy all these songs and hope y’all enjoy them as well.
